Small-scale agriculture and food security in mountains are among the topics on the World Mountain Forum agenda. Please send your abstracts for the international conference that will take place in Cusco, Peru, on 23-24 May 2014.

The contributions should focus on small agriculture (family farms, including pastoralism) and address food security through any or all of the following themes:

  • Institutions and governance (local, national)
  • Infrastructure and market development (including energy supply)
  • Livelihoods, (poverty, migration, vulnerability-resilience, gender)

Abstracts should be short (no more than 1 000 characters including spaces) and evidence-based (research, concrete implementation, etc.) and may be sent to: [email protected]

These topics will be discussed during a session led by the Mountain Partnership, Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the Albertine Rift Conservation Society (ARCOS) and the Centre for Development and Environment of the University of Berne (CDE). Read more
