Sustainable mountain development jobs open in Nepal

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), an inter-governmental knowledge organization, is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill various positions in the centre’s regional programmes. Based in Kathmandu, Nepal, ICIMOD promotes sustainable mountain development in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region, which includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal and Pakistan.

Its six regional programmes complemented by four thematic areas are the primary delivery mechanism through which the centre aims to achieve its goals of reducing poverty and vulnerability and improving the lives and livelihoods of women and men in the mountainous region.

Applicants for the positions of Communication Consultant, Livelihood Specialist, Regional Programme Manager, Tourism Specialist and Programme Coordinator are sought from individuals with at least five years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or PhD. The duty station is Kathmandu with frequent travel to the region.
