Win a watershed management award

14.04.2014

Swiss Re Foundation is accepting proposals for its International ReSource Award for Sustainable Watershed Management until 30 April 2014. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), private, scientific and public institutions are encouraged to propose their watershed management projects that raise awareness about the ecological, social and economic significance of water sources and watersheds in developing and emerging countries.

The International ReSource Award for Sustainable Watershed Management is an internationally recognized prize acknowledging leadership in the implementation of the principles of sustainability in watershed management. Every year USD 150 000 is awarded by an international jury to either one or several projects for project implementation activities.

Entries should aim to ensure that water remains a readily available, clean resource in the future. Projects will be assessed according to their: impact, innovation, local involvement, feasibility and governance and financial structure.

Recent winners have supported communities in locations, such as Afghanistan, China, Guatemala and the Solomon Islands. Read more
