 Cleaning up the mountains in Spain04.07.2014Mountain Wilderness will take part in a cleaning day called ‘Gredos Limpio’, which is organized by a citizens’ collective in the Sierra de Gredos in Central Spain. This initiative, supported by the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park, will be held on 4 October 2014, before the first snow fall can cover the rubbish left on the slopes. Mountain Wilderness participates in or organizes cleaning actions in various mountain ranges as part of its “Obsolete installations” programme, which is aimed at the dismantling of old equipment abandoned in mountain areas. The first action, in October 2013, gathered 40 people who collected 80 kg of rubbish. |
