Celebrating and studying mountains in Utah

Utah International Mountain Forum (UIMF), a coalition of student clubs at Utah Valley University (UVU) hosted the celebration of the International Women’s Day on March 9, 2015. As a part of the agenda Jesler Molina, President of UIMF and other members of a coalition reported about progress of the student organizing committee in preparations to the Fourth International Women of the Mountains Conference which UIMF will host during October 7-9, 2015. Second Volume of the journal “Youth and the Mountains” with research papers of UVU students and the winners of the high school contest 2014 on family farming was presented to the audience by Dr. David Connelly, Editor-in-chief of the journal (http://www.uvu.edu/hps/docs/online_ym.pdf).  Event was highlighted by screening of the new documentary “Wiring the Amazon-WEB,” which was sponsored by UVU Student Association and presented by Tyler Brklacich, UVU student body President. Documentary, featured by New York Times, tells a story about children in Andes, who learning for the first time how to use Internet and new technologies.
