Nominations for business women from mountains

Utah Valley University has funds to bring six women entrepreneurs from mountain nations to Utah in October 2015. Together with the International University of Kyrgyzstan, UVU will host the Fourth International Women of the Mountains Conference in Orem, Utah, USA on 7 - 9 October 2015.

The agenda for the conference includes a business fair with local entrepreneurs on the date 9 October 2015.  During the fair Utah companies will have the opportunity to work with conference participants to find partners for trade and commercial projects. The conference has raised funds to bring six women entrepreneurs to Utah from developing mountain nations (two from Asia, two from Africa and two from Latin America) to attend the conference.

Utah leads the United States in many areas, as per Forbes Magazine. Its economy is very diversified with the economy strong in IT, bio-technology, financial sectors, tourism, mining, aerospace, energy (fossil and renewable), agriculture, etc.

The conference organizers request the assistance of the Mountain Partnership regional hubs to help identify these candidates from members of the Mountain Partnership. Women candidates should have entrepreneurial experiences in one of the following areas:

  • ŸAgriculture
  • ŸTourism
  • ŸSoftware development
  • ŸRenewable energy

The Organizing Committee requests the submission of a short bio from the candidates, as well as a description of their business interest and activities, including their website, if applicable.
