 The Mountain Partnership21.09.2012The Mountain Partnership is a United Nations voluntary alliance of partners dedicated to improving the lives of mountain peoples and protecting mountain environments around the world. The partnership addresses the challenges that mountain regions are facing by tapping the wealth and diversity of resources, knowledge, information and expertise, in order to stimulate concrete initiatives and joint action on the ground to ensure the improved quality of life and environments in the world’s mountain regions. Currently, 53 governments, 14 intergovernmental organizations and 166 major groups (including groups from civil society, NGOs and the private sector) are members.
