Active Remedy contributes to UN water security report

27.03.2013

Mountain Partnership member Active Remedy has contributed to a United Nations Analytical Brief on water security.

Released in March to coincide with World Water Day, the brief explains issues of concern to the United Nations and its member states and recognizes that water security must be defined in its broadest sense, accommodating issues of human development, ecosystem protection, national and regional security, and hazards and risks through disasters.

The brief will be considered by a group of 30 member states tasked with drafting the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals.

Active Remedy has also been contributing to the Water Draft paper for Beyond 2015, a civil society campaign pushing for a strong and legitimate successor framework to the Millennium Development Goals.
