![]() An MP tribute to family farming on World Food Day16.10.2014On 16 October 2014, the Mountain Partnership (MP) Central Asia Hub, jointly with the Agency of Development Initiatives (ADI) and the offices of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and World Food Programme (WFP) in Kyrgyzstan, marked World Food Day in Bishkek. A photo exhibition, called ‘Family farming- feeding the world, caring for the earth,’ was held at the Parliament of Kyrgyz Republic. The exhibition was aimed at attracting attention of decision makers to family farmers, who play a significant role in food security. In Kyrgyzstan there are more than 340 000 farms, the majority of which are family farms, and they provide 90 percent of agricultural products. More than 30 photos, provided by the Mountain Partnership, FAO and WFP offices in Kyrgyzstan, were displayed with captions that featured related statistics and facts. |
