Geosciences journal issues special issue call for papers

17.04.2020

The journal Geosciences is currently running a special issue entitled "Geo-Hydrological Risks Management", which is accepting submissions until 30 September 2020. This issue aims to gather high-quality, original research articles and technical notes on the use of geosciences applied to geo-hydrological risk management. The special issue will highlight case studies, best practices and applied research.

Geosciences is an interdisciplinary, international peer-reviewed open access journal of geoscience, future earth and planetary science published monthly online by MDPI.

Geosciences editor-in-chief, Dr Jesus Martinez-Frias from the Instituto de Geociencias IGEO (CSIC-UCM), says, “We are committed to drive Geosciences to a position in which it is recognized for its high-quality, cutting-edge research and scientific influence, and strongly encourage and invite your participation and manuscripts.”

This special issue on “Geo-Hydrological Risks Management” is guest edited by Dr Danilo Godone from the Geohazard Monitoring Group, Research Institute for Hydrogeological Prevention and Protection, National Research Council, Turin, Italy (CNR-IRPI).

“The use of geoscience tools is an undeniable added value when coping with natural disasters and their risk management,” states Godone. “Thanks to the accuracy and richness of geometric data, risk management is facilitated by and contributes to, among others, risk mitigation and the development of sustainable adaptation strategies.”

Authors are encouraged to send a tentative title and a short abstract outlining the aims of the research and its main results in order to check, at an early stage, if the contribution fits the scope of the special issue. Submitted papers should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere, and the use of open source approaches is highly appreciated. Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted).
