Argentina’s Mountain Committee news now online

The Committee for Sustainable Development of the Mountain Regions of Argentina released the ninth edition of its newsletter, covering mountain-related news from October and November 2014.

The newsletter in Spanish features stories about rhodochrosite – a mineral known as ‘Inca Rose’; Argentinean researcher, Dr Bibiana Vilá, receiving the Midori Prize for her work on the conservation and sustainable use of vicuñas and the Municipality of Luján de Cuyo building a mountain bikeway between Las Dampers and Cacheuta and the opening of the first pharmacy in Potrerillos.

Two of Claudio Scheinkman’s photographs of mountains appear in the cultural section in which the Argentinean photographer is quoted for saying, “There’s no better way to learn than to teach”.
