Vote for the Best Climate Practices Award

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and the Centre for Environment and Agriculture Policy Research, Extension and Development (CEAPRED) have developed four Climate Smart Villages (CSV) pilots under ICIMOD’s Himalayan Climate Change Adaptation Programme (HICAP) in villages of Kavre District, Nepal.

Taking an integrated approach to climate adaptation, resilience, and food security, the pilots combine three dimensions of sustainable development to enable mountain communities improve resilience to climate change and foster sustainable development.

The CVS is working with 508 households in 18 farmers’ groups in four villages in Kavrepalanchowk,Nepal and have been shortlisted for a Best Climate Practices Award under “Climate Change and Water Availability for Food Production”. The winning climate practice will be awarded a price money of €10 000. The prize money will go to four villages to support recovery and reconstruction efforts in the aftermath of earthquake.
