Mountains at IUCN World Conservation Congress

27.06.2016

The World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) Mountains Group of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) will highlight the value of mountain protected areas at the next IUCN World Conservation Congress in Hawaii, USA, in September 2016. Among the events being planned is a Knowledge Café, called “Mountain Protected Areas: Leadership for Adapting to a Changing World”.

Mountain Partnership members and friends are welcome to take part in the Knowledge Café, a facilitated group conversation and exchange of ideas on 4 September. The meeting is expected develop a deeper understanding of the threats and future challenges to conservation of mountain protected areas around the world by drawing on the wisdom and knowledge of the international mountains network and its various organizations and experts.
