Tri-national youth tour of Mont Blanc begins

ProMONT-BLANC is conducting a tri-national tour of Mont Blanc with 12 young “ambassadors”, ages 20-25, from France, Italy and Switzerland. They set out on 12 September along the trail Tour du Mount Blanc and will travel from Courmayeur, Italy to Chamonix Valley, France. Accompanying them are experts in agriculture, biodiversity, climate change, ecology, geology, glaciology and mountain tourism. They will venture between pastures, glaciers, passes and valleys to think about the future of the massif.

On 16 September, the final evening of the tour, the young ambassadors will celebrate the respective 25th anniversaries of ProMONT-BLANC, Espace Mont-Blanc and the Alpine Convention with reports of their impressions and experiences, a dinner, music and dancing. A debate on the role of young people for the future protection and management of Mont Blanc will conclude the official part of the evening.
