Briefing on the Desert Locust Upsurge in the Greater Horn of Africa

The current desert locust upsurge in the Greater Horn of Africa represents a grave threat to food security and livelihoods. On 10 February 2020, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) are co-hosting a briefing for the United Nations Members States and media on the topic of the locust invasion. Under-Secretary-General (USG) for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock is chairing the briefing, while Ambassadors from the most affected countries are giving statements.
