This event is organized by the FAO Liaison Offices in Brussels, Geneva, and New York, and the FAO Office of SIDS, LDCsand LLDCs, in collaboration with FAO’s Markets and Trade Division. The aim is to contribute to the efforts ahead of the fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States, taking into consideration the specificities of SIDS and the potential role of trade to contribute to agrifood systems transformation. The event will target a variety of audience, including FAO Members, UN Agencies, non-governmental organizations and other relevant stakeholders.

The main objectives of this dialogue are:

  1. To provide an overview of trends concerning agricultural trade in SIDS, including challenges and opportunities
  2. To inform and raise awareness about the existing and/or potential initiatives/efforts/opportunities at national, regional and multilateral level to enhance trade capacity of SIDS and to promote regional/intra-regional trade.
