FAO and Bioversity International urge for sustainable diets
Rome, 2 July 2012- Current food systems and unsustainable diets highly affect ecosystems and biodiversity. As concrete action and major efforts are urgently needed to enhance human and planet's health, FAO and Bioversity International launch a book, Sustainable Diets and Biodiversity, to promote a more efficient use of resources for improved diets. According to the book, reintroducing healthy crops and under-utilized plant species worldwide could represent the way forward towards sustainable diets.
