Over 187,000 People in Northeast Nigeria to Benefit from 2024 Rainy Season Input Distribution

Maiduguri - The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Nigeria will launch the 2024 Rainy Season Input Distribution in the Northeast Nigeria on 20 June 2024, in Adamawa State. This initiative, supported by donor agencies (the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), Norway's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Swiss Development and Cooperation, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), targets more than 26,750 households (187,250 individuals) across Borno, Adamawa and Yobe (BAY) states. It aims to enhance food security and build resilience among communities affected by prolonged conflict. The event will feature the ceremonial handover of seeds and fertilizers to beneficiary farmers by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa state, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, GSSRS and the FAO team. This highlights FAO’s ongoing commitment to restoring livelihoods and ensuring food security in the BAY states
