AIM for Climate Summit

Hybrid Event, 08/05/2023 - 10/05/2023

The United States will host the AIM for Climate Summit at the JW Marriott on May 8-10, 2023, in Washington, D.C. The Summit, supported by Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR), aims to bring together partners to increase and accelerate investment in and support for agriculture and food systems innovation for climate action.

The Summit is a premier global event “for the partners, by the partners” that will provide a game-changing platform for AIM for Climate partners to raise ambition and amplify their work in climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation. This event will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, producers, civil society groups, and scientists and researchers worldwide to drive rapid and transformative climate action.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a Knowledge Partner of the Aim for Climate and will host a breakout session entitled, "Investing in sustainable agrifood system transformation: finance gaps and opportunities" on Tuesday, May 9th. The session will be moderated by Zitouni Ould-Dada, Deputy Director of the Climate and Environment Division FAO.

Ismahane Elouafi, Chief Scientist at FAO, will participate in the Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture Breakthroughs and the High-level Plenary on May 9th as well.

FAO will also be exhibiting the Extinction Thermometer, an art installation designed by Benjamin Von Wong and hand-sculpted by Dana Waldman to highlight the connection between Climate Change and Biodiversity Loss.

Registration is now closed, but you can live stream the session.
