Regional Knowledge Platform on One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) in Asia and the Pacific

Launch Event of the Global Project Supporting the Implementation of FAO One Country One Priority Product Initiative under the Framework of FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme

12.30-13.30 (CET) | Sheikh Zayed Centre

Hybrid Event, 06/12/2023

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is organizing a launch event to mark the initiation of the global project supporting the implementation of the One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) initiative under the framework of FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme. Join us on 6 December from 12.30 to 14.00 hours (CET) for this high-level hybrid virtual/physical meeting at FAO headquarters in Rome, held as a side event of the 174th Session of the FAO Council.

This event will serve as a forum to announce the global project supporting the implementation of the OCOP initiative under the framework of the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme, including the countries and the special agricultural products to be promoted. Updates on the global progress on the implementation of the OCOP initiative and the way forward will also be shared.

It is expected that the launch event will enhance a better understanding and a broader recognition of the South-South Cooperation Programme and the OCOP initiative worldwide. This, in turn, will contribute to the effective implementation of the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-31 and the achievement of SDG targets, aligning with national priorities.

The event will provide a platform for FAO members, OCOP focal points from 83 countries, government officials, farmers, opinion leaders, policymakers, scientists, and representatives from academia, civil society, NGOs, and the private sector to prioritize actions and strengthen collaboration for the implementation of the OCOP initiative.

We invite FAO Members and all agrifood system stakeholders to participate in the event. The webcast will be available HERE.
