OCA is an online non-profit organization campaigning for health, justice and sustainability.  The Association deals with issues of food safety, industrial agriculture, genetic engineering, health, sustainability, corporate accountability and Fair Trade.

Organic Exchange is a charitable organization committed to the expansion of organic agriculture, with a specific focus on increasing the production and use of organically produced fibres, such as cotton.  The organization functions through brand outreach, farm development and education and training. 

DEFRA is the UK Government Department responsible for the environment, food, farming and rural affairs.  The Department maintains a consumer education page on organic farming.  This webpage includes information on the sustainability, environmental and nutritional benefits or organic food and farming, as well as updates the user of current research activities undertaken by DEFRA. 

OFRF’s purpose is to foster the improvement and widespread adoption of organic farming systems. They achieve this mission by sponsoring research related to organic farming, disseminating research results to organic farmers and to growers interested in adopting organic production systems, and educating the public and decision-makers about organic farming issues. OFRF’s integrated strategy of grantmaking, policy, education and networking initiatives supports organic farmers’ immediate information needs while moving the public and policymakers toward greater investment in organic farming systems.

Bioforsk is a national research and development branch of the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food.  The Organic Food and Farming Division of the branch plays the leading role in research and development of organic agriculture in Norway, especially around market development.  Projects include the Innovative Public Food Procurement for Youth project that examines organic and conventional food procurement, a study on quality analysis of critical control points within the whole food chain and their impact on food quality, and a study on organic milk quality.

The Soil Association is the UK’s leading organic organization.  It is active in collecting and dissemination information surrounding organic food to researchers, industry members and consumers.  The website includes a variety of print and online resources.

Organic Monitor is a private consultancy and business research firm in the field of organics.  The company publishes business research reports on the international organic products industry.  Publications are available for a fee.

OPPAZ was set up in 1999 as a body affiliated to the Zambian National Farmers Union. It promotes the organic movement in Zambia. It also developed a technical advisory service for its members. In general, it provides marketing, certification and technical support to producers from the smallholder sector as well as to large-scale commercial enterprises

The Organic Research Centre is a registered charity in the UK and a leading research, development and advisory institution for organic agriculture.  The Centre’s research is aimed at addressing the needs and questions of the UK organic sector.  Research includes work on policy, whole farming systems, cropping, livestock and soil, water and nutrients.  Studies have included work on agroforestry, seed production and quality, extended season cropping, companion cropping and disease control, nutrient flows, livestock feeds and animal welfare.
