Expanding Horizons: A Look at Farrukh Toirov's Journey with FAO Pakistan

12/04/2023

Farrukh Toirov, who hails from Tajikistan, has been serving as the Deputy Representative of FAO Pakistan for the past five years. The opportunity to work in Pakistan was a perfect fit for him as it allowed him to work in one of the largest country offices of FAO in the world. FAO Pakistan's portfolio is vast and diverse, encompassing projects related to agriculture, forestry, livestock, fisheries, environment, information management, policy work, and more. This presented a significant opportunity for Farrukh to broaden his knowledge and experience in areas where he had not worked before while leveraging his many years of experience in managing and designing FAO projects to bring efficiency and effectiveness to the country office.
Farrukh's professional journey began with agriculture-based NGOs in Tajikistan, where he gained extensive experience in implementing agri-based programs. He joined FAO in 2005, which was a natural continuation of the work he was already doing, albeit on a larger scale. In his rare moments of free time, Farrukh enjoys watching movies. He recently shared his professional and personal life journey in FAO's intranet series "A Day in the Life." You can find out more about Farrukh by visiting;
