FAO Pakistan’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) unit hosted a baseline study validation and learning workshop for USAID-funded project “Revival of Livelihoods, Food Security, and Nutrition of Flood-Affected Populations in Sindh” in Shaheed Benazirabad district. The event brought together over 70 participants, including representatives from government departments, academia, INGOs, NGOs, local communities, and project beneficiaries.

The workshop, opened by the Deputy FAOR, Deputy Country Director of WFP, and the Additional Deputy Commissioner, focused on establishing benchmarks to measure the impact of a joint FAO-WFP baseline study. Key objectives included sharing findings, promoting knowledge exchange, and validating results to inform project actions.

Highlights included an introduction to the project and a presentation of the baseline study results using the Resilience Index Measurement & Analysis (RIMA) approach. The event concluded with remarks from the Livestock Department and PDMA representatives, stressing the importance of collaboration to tackle climate change and food security challenges in the province.
