El propósito del marco de monitoreo es servir como un instrumento para las ciudades y las partes interesadas del sistema alimentario urbano para identificar las prioridades de los pro- gramas y políticas relacionadas con los alimentos. El Marco también sirve para ilustrar hasta qué punto los “cambios deseados” están sucediendo y/o cómo tales cambios están provocando un impacto. Si se mide periódicamente, el Marco puede ser utilizado para evaluar las brechas existentes en el avance de las políticas y la movilización de recursos, así como revelar la mejora general de los sistemas alimentarios urbanos.
