Looking back over the past four years of their successful partnership, FAO and Cirad are honoring this occasion through the co-publication of the Highlights of the FAO-Cirad partnership. This E-booklet underscores the principles, vision and goals of the partnership that has fostered the successful collaborations on themes such as agroecology, animal health, family farming and climate change. FAO and Cirad look forward to the next phase of partnership with a view of making even greater impact at national, regional and global levels to foster the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

FAO, IFAD and WFP present a road map aiming at increasing their collaboration in support of South-South and Triangular Cooperation
28 November 2017 - Rome/Antalya. At the Global South-South Development Expo in Antalya (Turkey), the Rome-based Agencies (RBAs) presented todaya joint roadmap which aims to strengthen the three agencies’ collective efforts to facilitate South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the context of achieving progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 2, zero hunger, by 2030.

Since the 1990s, the Organization has been developing South-South Cooperation initiatives with positive results to guarantee food security, the strengthening of family agriculture and agricultural and environmental policies, among others.
Brasília, 22 November 2017 – For two days ten ministers from developing countries and several international authorities exchanged experiences during the International Conference on South-South and Triangular Cooperation: Promoting innovations from the global South to support rural transformation, promoted by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) ), in Brasília, Brazil.
More than 300 representatives from Governments, international organizations, academies, research institutes, the private sector, NGOs and the civil society participated in this event, which counted on FAO as one of its main supports.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and FAO have announced a three-year Sustainable Agriculture for Economic Resiliency project in South Sudan, to address widespread food and nutrition deficiencies and help communities become increasingly resilient to shocks including conflict and economic and environment-related shocks.
More than three years of conflict have made South Sudan one of the world’s most food-insecure countries, with more than half the population facing life-threatening hunger. This project will target households experiencing stress and crisis levels of food insecurity, to prevent them from falling into worse levels of food insecurity—emergency and famine.
