An interregional technical cooperation program will enhance food and nutrition security in the Portuguese Language ountries
FAO and the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) have joined forces towards the establishment of a Hunger Free Community of Portuguese Language Countries.
FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and the Executive Secretary of the CPLP, Murade Isaac Miguigy Murargy, signed a Technical Cooperation Programme, uniting FAO and the CPLP today.
With a total allocated contribution of $500,000 USD, the programme will support the CPLP and its governments, parliaments and non-governmental partners in implementing a Regional Strategy for Food and Nutrition Security approved in 2012.

Collaborative Partnership on Sustainable Wildlife Management
Over the last decade, Africa has witnessed demographic expansion resulting in encroachments into wildlife habitat, and increased cases of Human-wildlife conflicts (HWC), threatening both human and wildlife populations.
Similarly, dramatic trends in criminal hunting and trade are threatening many wildlife species to the verge of extinction. Concerted and efficient Human-wildlife conflict mitigation strategies need to be implemented to manage wildlife in order to provide ecological, social, economic and cultural contributions to human development, food security, and find a right balance for living in harmony with nature.

Soutien aux petits agriculteurs, point de discussion avec le chef d’entreprise mondial
Le Directeur général de la FAO José Graziano da Silva et le Directeur Général d’Unilever Paul Polman ont discuté de l’importance du soutien aux petits agriculteurs lors de la reunion au siege de la FAO, aujourd’hui.
"Cette réunion a été l'occasion de discuter des problèmes mondiaux à résoudre;la sécurité alimentaire étant évidemment très élevée à l'ordre du jour", a dit le Directeur d’Uniliver. Rural advisory services are key to achieve reduction of rural poverty
FAO and the Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS) will step up its ongoing cooperation on areas such as capacity development, gender and nutrition. The Chief of the Research and Extension Unit in FAO, Mr. Andrea Sonnino, and the Deputy Director of Agridea, Ms Sylvie Aubert, as well as the Deputy Head of Department Rural Development, Markets and International of Agridea, Mr. Ernst Bollinger and the Chair of GFRAS, Mr. Francesco Aguirre, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the 19th of February 2014 which will allow the two organizations to formalize a long standing collaboration.

La FAO et la France vont intensifier leur coopération dans des domaines de recherche clés et aligner leurs travaux sur le cadre stratégique renouvelé de la FAO.
