رحبت منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة (المنظمة) اليوم بمساهمة مقدمة من الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية قيمتها 10 ملايين دولار أمريكي دعمًا لما تبذله المنظمة من جهود للاستجابة لجائحة كوفيد-19وللمساعدة على التصدي لتحديات أخرى تهدد صحة الإنسان والحيوان والبيئة، بما في ذلك الجائحات في المستقبل.

On 25 November 2021, FAO and the Government of Australia signed a new USD 1 009 710 (equal to AUD 1 300 000) agreement to support the Flexible Multi-Partner Mechanism (FMM), FAO’s main fund for channelling and managing less-earmarked resources to strengthen the achievement of the Organization’s Strategic Objectives.

عقدت منظمة الأغذية والزراعة (المنظمة) اليوم محادثات بشأن المرحلة التالية للآلية المرنة المتعددة الشركاء (الآلية)، وهي مرفق تتزايد فعاليته، يتيح لوكالات الأمم المتحدة توجيه التمويل حيثما وحينما تمس الحاجة إليه.

In the first week of October 2021, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Tanzania, organized a workshop for Farmers and Forest Producers Organizations (FFPOs) in Tanzania. This workshop was part of the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) project of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Forests cover just over 30 percent of the global land area, yet they provide habitat for the vast majority of known terrestrial plant and animal species. Unfortunately, forests, and the biodiversity they contain, continue to be threatened by illegal logging and land conversion for agricultural purposes.

On 9 December 2021, the Flexible Multi-Partner Mechanism (FMM) launched FAO’s first-ever digital field trip targeted towards FMM Resource Partners - Belgium, Flanders, France, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. The virtual experience brought resource partners closer to the life-changing initiatives and real-world impact that they support through the FMM.

حّبت منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة (المنظمة) اليوم بموافقة مرفق البيئة العالمية على أربعة من المشاريع التي تقودها المنظمة في ثمانية بلدان، بقيمة إجمالية تزيد قيمتها عن 13.6 ملايين دولار أمريكي. وقد اتُخذ هذا القرار خلال الاجتماع الحادي والستين المنعقد بشكل افتراضي لمجلس مرفق البيئة العالمية، وهو الجهاز الرئاسي الرئيسي للمرفق.

The FAO Liaison Office in Brussels organized a briefing on the Global Network Against Food Crises for a number of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and the European Alliance against Hunger and Malnutrition. The event revealed the current global picture regarding food insecurity and hunger, and showcased

Small Island Developing States (SIDS) include some of the world’s most remote countries that share a similar set of challenges, including susceptibility to natural disasters, limited resources and dependence on international trade, in addition to a common aspiration for sustainable development, improved living standards and the remediation of gender inequalities. Women represent 52 percent of the agricultural labour force in SIDS and are essential agents of change to ensure a shift to more efficient and climate-resilient food systems.

حظيت الجهود الرامية إلى مساعدة المجتمعات الريفية الضعيفة في الصومال على تحقيق الأمن الغذائي وبناء القدرة على الصمود أمام تغير المناخ على دعم إضافي بفضل الشراكة الجديدة بين منظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة (المنظمة) وصندوق قطر للتنمية، وهو المؤسسة العامة التابعة لدولة قطر المعنية بالتنمية.
