Le 10 décembre 2019, la Norvège, représentée par l'Agence norvégienne de coopération pour le développement (Norad), est devenue officiellement membre contributeur du Mécanisme multidonateurs flexible (FMM) de l’Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO). L'accord, signé par Roberto Ridolfi, Sous-Directeur général de la FAO, et Mette Møglestue, Directrice de la Norad, fixe une contribution norvégienne de 90 millions de couronnes (environ 10 millions d’USD) en faveur des programmes et sous-programmes du FMM pour les trois années à venir. Il témoigne de l’engagement de la Norvège en faveur du renforcement de l'orientation programmatique du FMM autour des systèmes alimentaires résilients et durables, du changement climatique et de l'agriculture.

On Friday, 29 November 2019, the Flexible Multi-Partner Mechanism (FMM) held its second Resource Partner Consultation meeting of the year at FAO Headquarters in Rome. The consultation opened with Director-General Qu Dongyu giving the opening remarks, and stressing the importance of robust flexible funding mechanisms like FMM in enabling innovation, speed and cross-sectoral cooperation in pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “We are learning together, contributing together and working together,” he said.

Aujourd'hui l'UE, les groupes de pays africains, caribéens et du Pacifique (ACP) et l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture (FAO) ont signé un programme sur cinq ans, le FISH4ACP. The Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea (IMELS) sealed an agreement with FAO today, detailing technical support to the National Council for Environment of Sudan, and turning ongoing cooperation activities between Italy and Sudan into tangible projects and initiatives to implement. Two approved projects totaling 1 611 877 Euro will enhance and protect rural livelihoods in Sudan thanks to tailored climate change mitigation and adaptation measures.
