FAO and the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) implemented the Mesoamerica Hunger Free programme, a South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) initiative. The SSTC framework spurs collaboration between developing countries based on the concept of solidarity, breaking the traditional model of donor and recipient countries. The Hunger Free programme helps national governments implement food and nutrition security and rural development public policies, using a human rights approach and the right to adequate food.

For the fifth consecutive year, FAO, IFAD and WFP are jointly organizing the celebration of the UN Day for South-South Cooperation (UN Day for SSC) – an annual event marked on 12 September 2021. Brazil Africa Institute (IBRAF) and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have signed, Thursday 22nd, a Letter of Agreement (LoA) to jointly design a South-South Cooperation (SSC) training through IBRAF’s Online Professional Learning (OPL) platform that will support 400 African trainees to gain expertise and skills on Fall Armyworm sustainable control.
