Rome / Beijing - 22 September 2022 – FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) of the People’s Republic of China reaffirmed their commitment to agrifood system transformations and the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during the 10th Annual Consultation Meeting (ACM) of the FAO-China South-South Cooperation (SSC) Programme held virtually on 22 September 2022.
This is the second time that the ACM was organized virtually, due to the ongoing travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over 90 farmers and Trainers directly benefited from Good Agricultural Practices courses in Trinidad and Tobago. These courses helped share techniques for incorporating increased food safety practices for local produce with a specific aim on providing better quality food for School Feeding Programmes. The Trainers who participated in these courses belong to agencies who train over 2000 farmers per year.

Santiago, September 15th 2022 – Following the presentation of practical experiences in the development of technological systems and tools to modernize processes of regularization and allocation of rural and agricultural land in the region, on 28 September the first session of the II Cycle of exchanges of experiences: Technological solutions for land administration will be held, with support from the Brazil-FAO International Cooperation Programme, through the project “Support for the strengthening of responsible governance of tenure in Latin America and the Caribbean”.
