Ogaden Welfare and Development Association was established in 1999 to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged communities in Ethiopia’s Somali region. OWDA focuses on capacity building to empower communities, especially women, to protect their rights and participate in power, decision-making activities. OWDA works to to enhance poor communities to withstand environmental and man-made shocks by seeking to improve the living conditions.
