On 20 and 21 March, FAO 🇵🇭 hosted a two-day workshop on Conflict Sensitivity Awareness for Social Protection Programming in Natural Hazards and Conflict Affected Areas, which was held in Davao City.

Local government officials from the four municipalities of Maguindanao del Sur: Mamasapano, Shariff Aguak, Datu Salibo and Datu Saudi Ampatuan, together with provincial and regional officers from Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR, MAFAR Special Projects) and the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM, Bangsamoro Government), participated in the said activity.

The workshop is part of the ongoing “Scaling up the Joint Programme on Risk-Informed Shock-Responsive Social Protection (RISRSP)” project, jointly implemented by FAO and UNICEF Philippines and supported by the Australian Government.

The initiative aims to strengthen institutional capacity of municipalities with highest incidence of human induced conflict and vulnerability to natural shocks to implement inclusive RISRSP.
