The objective of the workshop was to enhance both individual and institutional capacities of Contracting Parties in the Near East Region to document and exchange non-confidential information associated to the germplasm in the Multilateral System of the International Treaty and other useful information. It was organized in collaboration with the National Genebank of Egypt and the FAO Regional Office and thanks to the generous support of the Government of Germany.

The meeting took place at the Agricultural Genetic Engineering Research Institute (AGERI). The meeting was conducted in English.
