G20 Indonesia - Gap Analysis on Food Loss and Waste Indices workshop

 

The commitment and support of G20 member countries to reduce FLW is highly required in efforts to achieve the SDGs goals. The availability and reliability of data is considered as the main key in measuring and formulating each country's strategy to reduce FLW. Therefore, initiative to carry out this workshop is timely and active participation of G20 member countries is appreciated.

Under the priority issue on promoting a resilient and sustainable food systems and agriculture, the objectives of this workshop are:

1) To assess and understand good practices and problems related to the fulfillment of the variables used to form the food loss index and food waste index.

2) To address and disclose gaps between measurement methods and available data and input on specific efforts to minimize gaps in data.
