Mitigating Methane: Accelerating Just Climate Action Through Food Recovery and Redistribution

Virtual Event, 28/08/2024

The Global FoodBanking Network, in partnership with the Global Methane Hub, will soon be unveiling a new, first-of-its-kind methodology for measuring methane emissions avoided from food recovery and redistribution as well as other co-benefits. The methodology has been developed to support global targets to mitigate one of the most potent, short-term greenhouse gases.

To share more details about the new Food Recovery to Avoid Methane Emissions (FRAME) methodology, a webinar is organized to present the approach alongside findings on emissions savings from the pilot implementation, which included six food banks in Mexico and Ecuador.

The webinar will take place at 12:00 EST (18:00 CEST) on Wednesday, August 28, and will bring together speakers from The Global FoodBanking Network, the Global Methane Hub, Carbon Trust, Microsoft, Banco de Alimentos Quito – Ecuador (BAQ), and Bancos de Alimentos Mexico (BAMX).
