N4G summit side event / Webinar: Reducing Food Loss and Waste in Fruits and Vegetables, for improving access to healthy diets

In the framework of Nutrition for Growth (N4G) 2021 Summit a side event titled "Reducing Food Loss and Waste in Fruits and Vegetables, for improving access to healthy diets" organized by FAO will be convened on 20 January 2022.

This side event will highlight the critical importance of reducing food loss and waste in fruit and vegetable supply systems, toward enhancing their quality, safety and availability for consumption in healthy diets. A keynote will be delivered by FAO’s Chief Economist, Máximo Torero Cullen, and a panel of experts from across the fruit and vegetable supply system will discuss and highlight opportunities and approaches to reduce food loss and waste and to maximize the use of fruits and vegetables produced for consumption. Policy measures to address supply and demand side issues in fruit and vegetable supply systems will also be discussed.
