Technical consultation on the International Code of Conduct for Food Loss and Waste Prevention and Reduction

On the 17th of September 2019, FAO will conduct a technical consultation on the International Code of Conduct for Food Loss and Waste Prevention and Reduction in the framework of the 2nd All African Congress and Exhibition on Post Harvest Losses which will take place in Addis Ababa (17th-20th of September 2019).
The recommendations from the technical consultation will contribute to the preparation of the a draft of the Code of Conduct, which will be further discussed and refined through internal and external multi-stakeholder meetings.
The technical consultation in Addis Ababa comes after an e-consultation, which was organised in August to collected inputs from stakeholders belonging to governmental institutions, academia, private sectors and civil society organizations across the world (more information here).
It is envisaged that a final version of the Code of Conduct will be presented for endorsement at the 27th session of COAG in October 2020 at FAO HQ in Rome.
