The Role of Sustainable Food Consumption and Production for a Healthy Planet and Prosperity for All

Hybrid Event, 21/03/2022

9:30-11:15 AM (UTC) virtual event

In light of the upcoming preparatory meeting for Stockholm+50 on March 28, 2022, in New York, this virtual event will discuss the connections between sustainable food systems and sustainable consumption and production, and shed light on the synergies between the follow-up processes of the UN Food Systems Summit and Stockholm+50. Concrete examples drawing from the National Pathways for Food Systems Transformation will be presented, followed by an interactive discussion with member states on a set of take-away messages.

The governments of Switzerland, Costa Rica and Vietnam, together with WWF International as well as the support of the One Planet Network (10YFP) Secretariat and the new Food Systems Coordination Hub, will explore with Member States and food systems actors the main lines of action that urgently need to be shaped to tackle food systems challenges. A set of key take-away messages will be discussed in light of the process towards the Stockholm+50 conference.
