Workshop: Support to African Union in the development of policies and strategies for country-specific plans to reduce post-harvest food losses

The workshop is organized by FAO in the framework of a project entitled ‘Support to African Union in the development of policies and strategies for country-specific plans to reduce post-harvest food losses’, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to food and nutrition security in sub-Saharan Africa by increasing capacity of core regional and national institutions to sustainably reduce food losses. 

The main objective of the workshop is to agree on activities and roles of stakeholders for successful implementation of the project.  Specifically, the workshop will: review the status of work in the key thematic areas under this project; develop a common understanding of the specific contribution the project will make to reduction of post-harvest food losses in Africa; develop a detailed plan of work; Agree on materials and tools used by the project.

About 20 participants are expected for this workshop, drawn from AUC, NPCA, RECs, development partners and government and private sector participants from the three selected countries.
