07/02/2019

There are now over 335,000 families in 16 countries who have made the choice to join the WFP Zero Food Loss Initiative. Thanks to the hard work of a growing number of WFP Smallholder Agriculture Market Support Teams, by year-end 2019 there will be over 567,000 Zero Food Loss families across Africa. Over US$40 million has been raised for post-harvest projects in the past three years, with donor awareness and support continuing to grow.

The WFP Global Post-Harvest Knowledge & Operations Centre (KNOC) is responsible for assisting WFP country offices, governments, and interested actors to achieve the Zero Food Loss Mission - to build awareness among Africa's 200 million smallholder families that they can reduce post-harvest losses to almost zero, and that 50 million families purchase and begin using hermetic storage by 2030.
