What role do producers play in reducing food loss and waste? Food loss and waste is serious in the NENA region; it occurs all along the food value chain, from production to consumption. Estimates indicate over 14% of food is lost after harvest until retail, and loss and waste reach on average 250Kg of food per capita annually.
