World Programme for the Census of Agriculture (WCA) 2020

Each round of agricultural censuses covers a ten-year period. The present round (WCA 2020) covers agricultural censuses to be undertaken between 2016 and 2025. The census of agriculture continues to play a key role in the collection of structural data on the agriculture sector. The WCA 2020 will ensure that data collected are comparable at the international level while also addressing emerging information needs of the 21st century.

Guide de sélection des projets agricoles dans un contexte de migration

This guide was developed as part of the "Youth Mobility, Food Security and Poverty Reduction"(RYM) project implemented by FAO with funding from the Italian Cooperation. The document is aimed to public and private organizations wishing to select agricultural projects with criteria to ensure compliance with all requirements of form and quality. The guide presents the selection process of agricultural projects for individuals and producer's organizations in the perspective of supporting youth mobility, food security and poverty reduction. The approach is based on 3 levels of evaluation (bidder profile, quality and form of the project, and interview with the bidder).

This document provides guidance to support the utilization of the “Rapid Capacity Assessment Tool: Empowering youth to engage in responsible investment in agriculture and food systems”.  The guidance document contains two distinctive, yet interrelated parts: • Guidance notes for organizers of the capacity assessment, which provide relevant information on planning, designing and conducting the capacity assessment; and • Guidance notes for facilitators, which contain concrete suggestions on how to prepare and facilitate multi-stakeholder discussions on the questions outlined in the tool.

NAP-Ag programme highlights 2015-2018

The joint UN Development Programme (UNDP) and Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans Programme  (NAP-Ag) is a multi-year initiative (2015-2018) funded by the International Climate Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB). Boosting the impact of social protection

With the aim of eradicating poverty and hunger, FAO provides countries with evidence-based policy support to design social protection programmes that are nutrition-sensitive, risk-informed and shock-responsive, and advocates to expand social protection coverage to poor and vulnerable rural people. Ensuring equal access to improve livelihoods

Poor rural people are often excluded from markets and do not benefit from tailored technologies and rural advisory services. These constraints lower their agricultural productivity, perpetuating poverty and hunger.
