Loan appraisal is a critical step in the risk management processes of financial institutions, and has a direct impact on portfolio quality and institutional viability. In this sense, the demands of traditional loan appraisal for agricultural households make capital inaccessible to many agricultural clients. The Agriculture Loan Analyzer tool helps to facilitate agricultural loan appraisals based on cash-flow analysis. Target users: financial institutions (loan officers, credit analysts, other agricultural lending practitioners), central banks, donors, policy makers. Supports the risk management processes and capacities of these stakeholders in the design of sustainable and inclusive financial services. 

This course presents strategies to strengthen the impact of child labour reduction and youth employment policies and programmes by considering the two issues together. First, it builds an understanding of the differences as well as linkages between child labour and youth employment. Second, it highlights concrete measures to improve policy and programme coherence and support for young people to access decent opportunities in agriculture.

Migration is an intrinsic part of rural development. Yet, there are major knowledge gaps regarding its drivers, dynamics and effects on rural areas. This e-learning course allows to understand the linkages between migration and rural development with a particular focus on youth. It also provides policy recommendations on how to maximize the positive impacts of rural migration and minimize the negative ones.

This course focuses on SDG Indicator 5.a.2 which assesses women’s equal rights to land ownership and/or control. The course describes the indicator, explains its rationale and provides countries with step-by-step guidance for conducting the assessment.

The platform presents country-level indicators and analyses of Monitoring and Analysing Food and Agricultural Policies (MAFAP). INPhO, the Information Network on Post-harvest Operations, aims at promoting good practices in post-harvest activities for agri-food products and to assist in the expansion of agribusinesses by providing access to technical data and information. 

CountrySTAT is a web-based information system for food and agriculture statistics at regional, national and subnational levels. The objective of CountrySTAT is to improve access to food and agricultural statistics. It supports data analysis and evidence-based decision making. It also facilitates informed policy-making and monitoring with the goal of eradicating extreme poverty and hunger. The system implements methods and standards to support institutions in data management and ensures long-term sustainability by developing capacity of regional and national experts.
