FAO support of multi-stakeholder platforms on land tenure governance. Innovative practices from the field and building on experience

As part of the efforts to find sustainable solutions to complex land tenure issues, multi-stakeholder platforms (MSPs) create an inclusive forum where actors can discuss problems and propose solutions to improve governance of tenure and provide better access to natural resources. This publication highlights how MSPs at regional, national and local level demonstrate forward thinking, including innovative practices and approaches to respond to the above mentioned social challenges, for the benefit of all.

Extraterritorial investments in agriculture in Africa: the perspectives of China and South Africa

The 2008 global food price crisis, and the resurgence of food prices in 2010-2011, caused both widespread concern and expectations. On the one hand, countries whose food supply depends on procuring food from international markets saw food price spikes as threats to their national food security. Working across sectors is crucial for food security and nutrition in Fiji

This policy brief provides some key take aways from a comprehensive policy effectiveness analysis carried out by the FIRST Programme (an EU-FAO partnership) in Fiji. The thorough analysis shows that, while important and useful, multisectoral coordination is not enough to achieve sustainable agriculture and food systems: every sector needs to take action. Coffee value chain analysis. Opportunities for youth employment in Uganda

This study aims to analyze the coffee value chain in Uganda and identify opportunities and constraints for enhancing youth employment.
