Why pulses? Let’s talk about that!

FAO’s FSN Forum to host online discussion on pulses from 30 May to 19 June

How do pulses contribute to household food security? Pulses have a potential role to play in climate change adaptation or mitigation, but what are the challenges that farmers face when producing them? How could we increase their use?

Pulses help tackle obesity and manage chronic diseases but still many questions about this nutritious food need to be addressed.

What better opportunity than the International Year of Pulses to talk about them? The secretariat of the International Year and FAO’s FSN Forum saw this opportunity and decided to host an open online discussion to explore these and many more questions about the production, consumption and benefits of this super food. All participants will also be invited to share particular recipes to inspire consumption of these nutritious seeds.

The online discussion will take place from 30 May to 19 June and everyone is welcome to join!
