FAO Kids advocate for pulses

Educational, colorful and fun! FAO’s newly launched comic strips are part of the series FAO Kids, made up of five superheroes with mundane superpowers– e.g. abundant empathy, vast knowledge, and boundless social skills.

Their mission is to eradicate hunger and malnutrition, eliminate poverty and ensure sustainable use of natural resources in order to make the world a better place. + READ MORE

Engaging with cooks for healthy diets

Good nutrition is widely recognized to be essential for anyone who wants to lead a healthy and productive life. Yet poor nutrition, hunger and poverty are still global concerns. With the conclusion of the symposium, countries and non-state actors from civil society, the private sector and research/academic institutions, are calling for action to shape food systems to make them deliver foods for healthy and nutritious diets.

During her engaging talk at the symposium, Jenny Chandler, food blogger and cook, as well as FAO Special Ambassador for the IYP, shared her concerns about the future direction of global nutrition policies. + READ MORE

IYP Special Ambassadors take the stage in the Global Dialogue

The International Year of Pulses Global Dialogue, hosted from 22-23 November 2016 at FAO headquarters, featured interventions by the four appointed Special Ambassadors for the regions of North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and the Near East.

With their own unique professional trainings, personal stories, cultural backgrounds and inspirational touch, Joyce Boye, Patricia Mercedes Juarez Arango, Elizabeth Mpofu and Magy Habib discussed the outreach and advocacy strategies they have applied throughout the year in their respective regions.+ READ MORE
