Save Food Asia-Pacific campaign
FAO’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology and other partners launched the Save Food Asia-Pacific campaign in 2013, which aims to reduce post-harvest food losses and market-to-consumer food waste. The regional initiative will raise awareness about the high levels of food losses – particularly post-harvest losses – and the growing problem of food waste in the region.
The SAVE FOOD initiative is a joint campaign instituted by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations and Messe Düsseldorf GmbH to fight global food loss. As a part of this global initiative, the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAO-RAP) in collaboration with Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is launching a region-wide campaign in the Asia-Pacific Region, under the banner "Save Food Asia and the Pacific" or "Save Food AP" designed to raise awareness and advocate for actions at the regional level to reduce food losses and particularly the growing problem of table waste in the region.
