High-Level Event on FAO African SIDS

Hybrid Event, 07/11/2023 - 08/11/2023

FAO developed a Programme dedicated to African SIDS. This Programme has been carrying out analyses through mapping and consultation work since December 2022 to identify current interventions and players working towards the resilience of agrifood systems, with the aim of determining future priority areas of action. A multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral international network (ITN) is officially in place to better inform technical decisions considering the insularity of these countries.

As this Programme prepares for project formulation, capacity development, partnership building and resource mobilization, a High-Level hybrid event is organized to make strategic decisions on the implementation of identified priorities at the ministerial level.

The event is key to moving forward together on this important agenda as a group of African SIDS. It will include ministers’ conclave with potential partners forum, to discuss the way forward based on the work carried out within the framework of the FAO African SIDS Programme.

This High-Level hybrid Event on FAO African SIDS will be held on 7 and 8 November 2023 in Mauritius and hybrid mode.

You are cordially invited to join us to enrich the discussions and strengthen the commitments which will be agreed upon at the end of the event.
