FAO Somalia and The Federal Government of Somalia have launched the first of a series of virtual regional and national Food System Summit dialogues in preparation for the United Nations Food Systems Summit, to be convened by the Secretary-General in September 2021.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Somalia, with funding from the European Union (EU), handed over pick-up trucks, motorbikes and tractors with farm implements to federal and regional government partners at a ceremony held in Mogadishu on Thursday, under the OUTREACH II project.

The United Nations in Somalia in partnership with FAO Somalia, held a joint virtual event to mark this year’s International Youth Day. The event was attended by participants from across government, UN agencies, civil society, private sector, and the media.
