Mandate, main activities of the institution and competencies
  • Mission statement: MIDIS's mission is to ensure that social policies and programs of different sectors and levels of government act in a coordinated and articulated manner to close the gaps in access to quality universal public services and access to the opportunities offer for economic growth.
  • Main activities: MIDIS main objective is to improve the quality of life of the population in a situation of vulnerability and poverty, promote the exercise of their rights, access to opportunities and to develop their own capabilities. The MIDIS coordinates and articulates with the various entities of the public sector, private sector and civil society, promoting social programs achieve their goals through constant evaluation, empowerment, training and coordinated efforts of its operators.
  • Competencies: Social development, poverty alleviation, promotion of social inclusion and equity; in addition to the social protection of populations at risk, vulnerability and abandonment.
